ABOUT KEMI BENNINGS

Kemi Bennings is a interdisciplinary artist, cultural producer, curator and arts activist whose work is informed by the symbiotic relationship between artist and art form, musician and instrument, conceptualization and spirituality. 

Kemi specializes in theatrical productions, art exhibitions, curatorial projects, cultural programs, new-age conscious poetry, as well as, her unique approach in bridging communities and inspiring social change through art, culture and music.

Kemi accounts the experiences of being a preachers kid, her Southern upbringing in Augusta, GA, summers spent with her grandparents in rural Americus, Georgia, her love for travel and exploring other cultures, the robust Atlanta arts and music scenes and the magical happenstances that landed her some amazing opportunities, including working with Tyler Perry Studios, living in Jiaxing, China, and her recent stent in Paris, France as major influences on her life.

Kemi has a passion for health, wellness and understanding all forms of spirituality – how it shows up as, and in various artistic disciplines, as a way of communication, an opportunity to embrace other cultures, a way to navigate through life from a macrocosmic perspective, how it inspires and influences the viewer and by exploring the intersectionality of all genres.

Kemi is founder of Evolve! Artists Live, an event promotions and live music theatrical production company that has a strong commitment to build community and cultivate independent art and music scenes around the globe.  She has worked and collaborated with several arts organizations to include National Black Arts Festival, Fulton County Arts & Culture, C4 Atlanta, Arts Beats & Lyrics (AB+L) Radio, Flux Projects, WonderRoot and Spelman College Museum.
